Poker players in New Jersey will have something brand new to look forward to as the WPT Online Borgata Series has been announced. The event is being introduced by the World Poker Tour, which has partnered with Partypoker. The online poker series that will start from September 13 will be replacing the WPT Borgata Poker Open. The new event promises USD 275,000 in total guarantees, and the 2-day main event has a buy-in of USD 1060. However, the tournament is only open to the online poker players of New Jersey. Players must be in New Jersey at the time of the individual event.
The World Poker Tour was always on toes in 2020 as they had to prepare online events in place of the tournaments at the physical casinos as everything went haywire due to the pandemic. The WPT online poker tournament was the inaugural event held in New Jersey and had a guarantee of USD 300,000.
The new series will offer the players as many as eleven events, although no official schedule has been released yet. There will be a USD 215 kickoff so that the series begins on September 13. The Sunday No-Limit Hold’em event will feature a guarantee of USD 100,000.
The New Jersey players who are eligible can enter the qualifiers for as little as USD 5 buy-in. The main event is on September 20 and 21, and the final table on September 21 will be shown live through streaming. The WPT Online Borgata Series is just another example of the growing popularity of online poker.
